Acne Studios Presents a Unique Perspective for the SS23 Season
Fashion imprint Acne Studios introduces its latest collection designed for the Spring/Summer 2023 season full of occasion apparel. It tampers with the concept of playing dress-up for a playful and nostalgic feel, revealing itself through a conceptual wedding party. The playful range takes themes of eccentricity and joy by infusing formal dressing with a positive mindset.
This includes silhouettes such as asymmetrical sing-button blazers, double-breasted suits, overcoats with large shoulder cuts, slim hemming, and relaxed shapes. Jonny Johanson talks about the capsule, “I’ve been reflecting a lot on my own wedding and the ones I’ve been to lately. I’m interested in the whole performance of it, the joyfulness, the dressing up, the kitschy-ness. In a sense, it’s one of the most serious days of your life, but it’s also fun and ridiculous [...] As I began researching and unpicking the proposition of occasionwear, different characters appeared. When you’re going to a wedding, you take the best things from your wardrobe or you buy, build, or make something new. The parts I like have this kitsch, spontaneous feeling.”
