Once reserved for special events, the Boston Public Library's Abbey Room will soon be home to a free weekly yoga class. The historic space is lined with murals by artist Edwin Austin Abbey including a piece called 'The Quest and Achievement of the Holy Grail.' The 150 panel piece was installed in 1895 and will serve as a visually stunning background for yoga enthusiasts.
The Abbey Room also includes an antique fireplace made from marble and a beamed ceiling inspired by Doge’s Palace in Venice. The weekly classes will be taught by blogger Rebecca Pacheco of OmGal.com, and will cater the classes to all levels of yoga practitioners.
