Nokia phones recently commission a new collection of positive, "text-able" poetry. The project includes messages of love and hope designed to uplift and inspires optimism during these difficult times. The poetry, featuring renowned artists like George the Poet, has been transformed into cheerful, text-able designs that people worldwide can share with their friends and family in a bid to stay connected.
The messages, or Short Moving Stories (SMS), serve as a response to new research that reveals that half of us actively try to keep positive while avoiding negative news. With interest in poetry and spoken word on the rise, not least with Amanda Gorman stealing the show at Joe Biden's inauguration, the writers hope that their words will help people reach out at a time when it can be difficult to do so.
Spoken word artist George the Poet commented on the project, stating: “Sometimes a few words can make all the difference. We’ve all experienced how some days can feel flat and endless, especially as we can't see our friends and family. Like the Nokia 5.4, I hope that my poems help you stay connected and in touch with your loved ones until we can all be together again.”
