Paper seems to fascinate designer Tokujin Yoshioka who ingeniously crafted the Cloud sofa for high end Italian manufacturer Moroso.
Presented at the Moroso Furniture Show during Milan Design Week 2009, the ethereal seating is simply made of crumpled paper held together so as to form a cushy sofa. The manufacturer aims to further develop this Tokujin Yoshioka prototype using several different fabrics that better apply to daily use.
Its mashed, pure white surface certainly looks inviting. And although there is no word on the strength of the Cloud design, from now on I will be thinking twice before throwing away all those crumpled pieces of paper from the documents I print every day.
