Advertising agency BBDO teamed with City Varsity Design/Film School for a line of advertisements that definitely bring the movies to the classroom.
The advertisements by BBDO show a classroom skeleton with a Terminator-esque face, as well as a chalkboard with the words “I must remember to do my homework†that look like the opening text of Star Wars. A funny way to draw attention to a film school!
Implications - While Star Wars has previously been associated with nerdy sub-cultures, the reality is that there exists an extremely lucrative consumer demographic that enjoys geeky movies and products. Businesses should consider appealing to this demographic instead of constantly trying to keep up with what is 'cool.'
