As simple as a slab of dimensional lumber, the 2 x 4 Pendent Light is nevertheless far from mundane. There might not be any frills or thrills when it comes to its aesthetic, but the fact that a basic piece of wood has been converted into a sophisticated light fixture gives it much more character than if it were still sitting in an aisle of a home hardware store.
Designed by Brooklyn-based Alexandra Burr, the 2 x 4 Pendent Light has also been given a whitewashed finish "to make it slightly more precious," as written on her website. Suspended by a near-invisible monofilament, it appears to be floating save for a single red cord. The LED strip is hidden behind frosted glass.
