Amber Dewaele designs the Flat Light, which is a minimal yet functional structure that is made with inspiration from a variety of things. The lamp is unconventional and it is inspired by a singular mundane thing: the store sign. The light is just as it is described.
It is housed in a thin and flat rectangular form which uses a stainless steel and acrylic material. The light comes through the edges so that it illuminates a soft glow to the environment that it is in. Due to the compact shape of the light, it is able to fit comfortably into narrow spaces or it can also be mounted onto the wall to take up even less space.
