William Shakespeare is the world's most renowned poet, playwright and author. He is known for the iconic stories of Romeo and Juliette, The Merchant of Venice and Macbeth. Today marks what would have been his 450th birthday, so in homage to it, here is a list of some of the most remarkable Shakespeare-inspired photo series.
From editorials to look books and remixed illustrations, this list of photo series proves that Shakespeare still has valid influence on today's artists. Modern clothing company Wildfox, for example, modelled an entire clothing line and correlating look book after Juliette from the famous Shakespeare tale 'Romeo and Juliette.' Celebrity actress Sienna Miller even posed as the playwright once for a Comic Relief campaign. Most recently, magazines have featured editorials themed around Shakespeare's style and era. Dazed Magazine's SS 2014 issue featured an editorial called 'Act One' and included theatrical Shakespearean-era clothing.
