From Eco-Hobbit Homes to Underground Mansions
Michael Hines — October 20, 2010 — Eco
If you're tired of the day-to-day grind of living above ground, then you need to check out these underground abodes.
Architecture has gone literally underground in the past few years, as builders and designers are finding that building into the earth is sometimes better than building above it. These underground abodes are filled with homes dug into hillsides and refurbished bunkers -- definitely worth a look.
Implications - In my second and third year of college, I lived in a basement apartment. After a while, the lack of natural light started to depress me and my roommates, but looking through the underground abodes in this collection has me longing for the secretive nature of underground living. Plus, most of these places are ten times nicer than our dingy apartment. Where can I sign up for one of these?
