From Graphic Movie Posters to Barbies These Tarantino-Inspired Creations Rock
Jordan Sowunmi — June 8, 2011 — Pop Culture
Most film critics and industry journalists agree that Quentin Tarantino is one of the most influential directors of this generation, so it should be no surprise that Tarantino-inspired creations are a huge cottage industry for film buffs and opportunists alike.
These Tarantino-inspired creations run the gamut from alternate graphic movie posters to LEGO icons to 'Kill Bill' barbies; the characters from Quentin Tarantino's 7 wide-release movies have proven to have a long shelf life.
My personal favorite Tarantino-inspired creation is definitely the Tarantino Tribute Art. Created by Ibraheem Yousseff, the posters are simple and devilishly clever. From the Reservoir Dogs poster that features a bunch of Crayola crayons to the Pulp Fiction poster that features a baseball bat, a hammer, a samurai sword and a chainsaw, this Tarantino-inspired creation is a wonderful inside joke for true Tarantino fans.
Implications - Iconic film directors are often equally as famous, if not more famous than the films they direct. Companies and brands can capitalize on the image investing in products centered around the director and his/her filmography. Not only will this attract the attention of fans of the director, but also journalists and marketing professionals as well, providing your brand with important watercooler buzz.
