In this modern age, there's a much stronger focus on fixtures that have harp edges and brutal design aspects, but these spherical lighting solutions prove that more organic designs are still en vogue.
As mentioned above, harsh lines and fierce structure reign supreme in the light fixture industry where the more brutal the design, the better. With that said, light fixtures have traditionally been spherical in shape and many designers continue to follow this aesthetic by focusing on the more organic shape. Perhaps it's situational, but a spherical lighting solution seems like the obvious choice when compared to other, more harsh designs that don't really add much flow to a space and can end up becoming dated fast.
