Deviating from the sewer dwellers’ cartoon roots, some artists have decided to depict the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in an ultra-realistic manner, adorned with scales, battle scars and anatomy resembling real-life turtles. Other artists have chosen to hyperbolize the characters’ fun-loving side and have drawn them as obese college students too plump to prevent crime.
