From Data-Driven Analytics to Social Listening Features

As most people consume their music through a music streaming app, different platforms are making adjustments to entice users to choose a specific platform. It is no longer enough for a music streaming app to just provide music, now platforms are looking at what else can be added on top of that.
One new music streaming service is attempting to bring more artists onto its platform, with the introduction of analytics. The Apple Music Analytics dashboard would provide artists with information about how their music is consumed.
The Earbuds app is attempting to bring in users through the use of name recognition. The platform is intended for celebrities and athletes to post their playlists. This would let users listen to the same music as some of the people they admire.
Lastly, Spotify has indicated it is working on a social listening tool. The tool would allow users to view what other users are listening too.
