Jason Wu is only 29 years old, but he has already made a huge splash in the fashion industry. The young designer launched his debut collection in 2006 and won the Fashion Group International's Rising Star award in 2008. That same year, he was nominated for the Vogue Fashion Fund award.
When Wu began designing full time, his early clients included Ivana Trump, January Jones and Amber Valletta. He also did extensive work for drag queen RuPaul and even designed six RuPaul dolls.
However, Jason Wu is perhaps most well known for designing Michelle Obama's white dress that she wore to the Inauguration Ball in 2009. Mrs. Obama was introduced to Wu by Andre Leon Talley, Editor at Large of Vogue US, back in 2008 and the two hit it off immediately.
