Inclusive design products have always been incredibly important. The innovations in this space are finally gaining traction and moving into the mainstream. Today, tech companies like Apple are addressing the need for assistive user-interfaces that will allow people with disabilities to interact with mobile phones and laptops in more comfortable ways.
Inclusive product design is also boldly entering the public space in more noticeable ways. A great example of this is NaviLens which installs public transit guides for those who are visually impaired. Located in Spain and developed in collaboration with the Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona, these guides feature hyper-responsive pixelated QR codes that are helpful, directional and effective in delivering commuter insights for a better experience on public transit.
