From Britney Spears to Vinyl Records

Everyone loves a good comeback; today the blogosphere is buzzing after last night's release of the video for Britney Spears' new single "Womanizer." We love to cheer on the underdog, to watch them emerge triumphantly out of obscurity, or, in Britney Spears' case, calamity. But there are far more comebacks to celebrate than the former popwreck's weight loss and sizzling single; thanks to Britney, however, we have cause to showcase them all.
In honor of Britney Spears, the 27 (plus one for good luck) triumphant comebacks in this cluster were all downtrodden, forgotten about or criticized--just like our favorite bottle blonde. Take the iPod, for example--after the release of the iPhone, that silly circle-shaped dial and white casing suddenly seemed way too 2005. The next crop of iPods reappeared in every color of the rainbow, revitalized and revamped beyond compare.
And when CDs and MP3s became popular, vinyl records and cassette tapes became obsolete. You'll see modern versions of both these outdated technologies in this cluster. There are also other pop star modern comebacks; Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson are currently recapturing the fame they found when Britney Spears was still a Mouseketeer.
From cars to restaurants and skyscrapers to trashcans, the overlooked articles in this cluster have come back better than before. What better way to welcome Britney Spears back to her rightful place atop the pop charts?
