From Bauhaus-Inspired Timepieces to Touring Bauhaus Buses
Kalin Ned — June 12, 2019 — Art & Design
Starting late last year and bleeding into 2019, there has been a steady and consistent flow of Bauhaus designs that have been hitting the market. From artisanal dormitory blankets that sport the classic plaid that has come to be strongly affiliated with the movement to the touring educational centers that bring knowledge of the influential German high school through bus outposts, the sudden surge in popularity stems from the fact that Bauhaus is celebrating its 100th year anniversary.
When it comes to inspiration, nostalgia is a defining factor. Building on top of pre-established artistic frameworks, the celebratory Bauhaus designs do not only look to pay homeage to the German art movement. They also attempt to revolutionize and further modernize its aesthetic, with reference to the environment of the 21st century.
