To coincide with the release of the annual eBay Recommerce Report, eBay announced that its inaugural Recommerce Day will be recognized on May 21st, 2024. On the day of the sustainable shopping event, Recommerce Day will take over the eBay homepage, inviting online shoppers to expand what they know about recommerce, find pre-loved deals and participate in an eBay Live program with exclusively pre-loved items.
According to eBay, "pre-loved shopping has been steadily growing, with younger generations increasingly turning to it for more authentic shopping experiences," and 65% of consumers ages 18 to 24 are most likely to have bought pre-loved goods in the last 12 months.
For Recommerce Day, eBay is partnering with award-winning actor and sustainability advocate Alicia Silverstone to inspire Gen Z and beyond to participate in the circular economy as buyers and sellers.
