The LEGO Group is on Track for Its Sustainability Goal
Kalin Ned — March 11, 2022Launching eco-friendly LEGO sets is part of The LEGO Group's sustainability goal. Like almost all major companies, the brand has set a timeline for itself to implement and improve planet-friendly approaches in material sourcing, manufacturing, processing, customer service, and more. By 2030, The LEGO Group has vowed to ensure that all LEGO bricks come from sustainable sources.
Thie eco-friendly LEGO initiative is on its way and after three years of testing, the company already has a prototype. The toy company went through 250 variations and came up with a suitable recycled PET brick that is "nearly identical" to its usual brick. For the next 18 to 24 months, The LEGO Group will be working on integrating this innovation in its LEGO sets.
