The Del Monte Zero pineapple is a new carbon neutral certified fruit grown by the brand as part of an initiative to enhance the sustainability of its products. The pineapple is grown in Costa Rica and has been certified as sustainably grown by the third-party SCS Global Services to ensure the claims it stakes are the real deal. The pineapple will be available in North America and select European markets starting in early 2023, and could be the first of additional products to come across the market as a whole.
Chief Sustainability Officer, Senior Vice President, R&D and Agricultural Services Hans Sauter commented on the Del Monte Zero pineapple saying, "We hope that the Del Monte Zero™ pineapples not only generate awareness among our customers, current and future partners but also provide consumers with a unique opportunity to support climate-conscious produce.”
