Huawei Joins with the International Union for Conservation of Nature
Huawei and the International Union for Conservation of Nature recently hosted the Tech4Nature Summit, inaugurating Phase Two of their global partnership. This event aligns with Huawei's TECH4ALL initiative and the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Green List program. It highlights the two organization's joint efforts to enhance technology's role in nature conservation.
The Tech4Nature partnership began in 2020, focusing on deploying technological solutions in protected and conserved areas worldwide. During Phase One, significant achievements included acoustic monitoring of the Hainan gibbon in China, AI-based tracking of jaguars in Mexico, and coral reef monitoring in Mauritius. These projects demonstrated the potential of technology to aid in biodiversity preservation and environmental protection.
Phase Two, running from 2023 to 2026, will extend these efforts to new flagship projects in countries including Brazil, Kenya, and Türkiye.
