Rapper-Backed Housing Projects

Kanye West's Yeezy Home Project is Focused on Social Good

The inspiration for the Yeezy Home project is interesting and the mission is wholesome.

In a bid to contribute with a solution to the housing crisis, Kanye West embarks on his first adventure in architecture. Unlike other ideas for affordable residencies, the rapper's concept "could be sunk into the ground with a lightwell carved into the top." Although renderings of the Yeezy Homes for the homeless have not been released yet, there are speculations that the rapper is undertaking an approach that is akin to science fiction. That is, the aesthetics of the concept share visual similarities with buildings from the abandoned desert planet of Tatooine as depicted in one of the Star Wars movies.

This Yeezy Home project was announced during an interview with Forbes.
