Spirit company Suntory has teamed up with the popular Japanese ad agency TBWA\Hakuhodo to create something that far exceeds the usual whisky rocks. These ice cubes are intricately shaped like figurines and statues. You wouldn't want to take a sip of your drink because they look more like works of art.
The ice cubes were made using a 3D mill. The mill drilled them into icy miniatures of iconic statues like Michelangelo’s David and NYC's Statue of Liberty. Other sculptures mimicked everything from Japanese architecture to spaceships and spacemen.
The designs were made available at a secret bar in Tokyo in effort to showcase the brand's alcohol. It prides itself on having one-of-a-kind liquors, so it wanted the ice cube sculptures to embody the same concept and link back to its branding.
