Meta announced new updates for its WhatsApp group call functionality on the popular secure chat app. The update includes two main features. The first main feature is the ability for any call participant to mute any other participant. It is important to note, though, that this is a local mute function, meaning the person is only muted for the person who muted them, not silenced for the whole call.
The second main feature is an updated notification at the bottom of the display while in a group call. This notification will tell the participants when an attendee enters or leaves the call, making it easier to keep track of who is participating in a call, even when tens of people are present.
