The Vulkan Beehive by Sohetta sits atop a rooftop in Norway, and can be seen from the streets below. The team wanted to promote how bees are integral to certain stages of food production, so they were looking to put this more in the public eye.
As such a rooftop in Norway seemed like a good way to have people pay attention to this process more. The beehive is made from wood, and has a honeycomb-like pattern engraved onto it. Hopefully with this project passersby won't have to worry too much about bee stings, since the hives are open for the bees to move in and out freely.
The structures stand out when looking up from the street, so people are sure to notice their presence. Photo Credits: designboom, snohetta
