'Vividus' is the name of a new bed that Swedish company Hästens unveiled during this year's Salone de Mobile.
True to tradition, the £100,000 bed was crafted by specialized artisans, who put more than 320 hours into the making of this luxury home furniture piece. The bed features hand-sewn layers of horsehair and cotton, as well as a redwood pine frame with wood that comes from Sweden shaped by artisan techniques that are centuries old. The entire bed can be identified as a Hästens original by its use of the brand's signature blue and white checkered fabric.
The rise of smart gadgets is creating space for many new high-tech bedding products to be created, but most seem to pale in comparison to the level of craftsmanship that can be seen on this Vividus bed.
