Vino Vitae is a unique wine rack that has been crafted with a beautiful purpose in mind. In addition to holding wine bottles and glassware, Vino Vitae was built to help raise funds for charity. Commissioned by cancer survivor Erin Zammett Ruddy, designer Axel Yberg of Akke Functional Art created something with both heart and soul.
Roughly translating to "in wine there is life," Vino Vitae has become a symbol of comfort and joy for Ruddy's family. While the plumbing pipes used for one half of the wine rack represent the hard road Erin and her sister Melissa had to take to fight cancer, the wooden half symbolizes their love for each other and their family.
