Over the course of #DroneWeek, GE took to Periscope to share a livestreamed view from a drone.
The drone itself featured a number of custom fittings and features, including a custom logic board, landing gear, flying software and even a 3D-printed camera mount. Together, these components were used to take GE followers on a behind-the-scenes tour of five GE facilities over the course of five days. Fans were able to interact with the brand using either the @GeneralElectric and @GEDronePilot Twitter accounts.
Beyond giving people an intimate look into the world of GE, through Periscope, social media users were also able to watch the drone go on a journey go from coast to coast as it moved to each new facility.
