Faced with dilapidated buildings and few funds for fixing, those in charge of the historically famous Versailles palace estate plan to convert the Versailles annex building into a 23-room hotel.
The Versailles annex, also known as the Hôtel du Grand Contrôle, sits on the edge of the Versailles palace estate. It was annexed to the palace grounds in 2008. Revenues from renting rooms in the renovated Versailles annex will fund preservation efforts at the Versailles palace estate.
Implications - Versailles Annex Hotel has plans to save the Palace Estate. The luxury hotel will open in the annex by the end of 2011. Rooms inside of this distinct luxury creation will feature views on the Swiss Ornamental Lake and on the Palace greenhouse.
