These soft and vibrant stools were made from resin and upcycled textiles.
Designed by Ammar Kalo's architecture and design studio, these stools are not only fashionable but also a friend to the environment. The seating portion of the stool is covered in semi-loose fabrics -- ensuring comfort while also reusing a product that would otherwise be thrown away. The base of the stool is made up of polyester resin that has trapped a portion of those fabrics, which not only holds the upcycled textiles in place but allows the user to see them "floating" in the transparent resin. The designer will soon use green resin, bio plastic or bio resin to create these chairs which would further reduce their environmental impact.
With the textile industry being one of the biggest culprits of producing waste, projects such as these are slowly trying to alleviate the issue.
