Frightening Makeup Masks

The 'Uniface Mask' is the Alternative to Makeup Or Plastic Surgery

NYU graduate and designer Zhuoying Li has helped to create a concept idea for the newest alternative to makeup and plastic surgery procedures called the 'Uniface Mask.' The mask is a said to be a thin, skin-like mask that is glued directly onto the face. According to the website, the product is for sale for $399, but other sources indicate that this was instead a piece intended to indicate the issues with societal constructions of beauty and is not actually for sale.

In any case, the website notes that this product "satisfies today’s beauty standards" and each mask is complete with "giant anime eyes, long lashes, a high nose bridge, and narrow chin [...] for a lifetime’s worth of confidence." While the concept is interesting and wildly bizarre, it certainly provides some realizations of our constructed understandings of beauty.
