Richard Bell Architecture is commissioned to complete an underground spa that includes a sauna, a steam room, a gym, as well as a changing area. Located beneath a Victorian-era home in the Chelsea neighborhood of London, the project oozes elegance and sophistication. Moreover, since the entire ordeal is underground, the dim-lit, ultra-modern atmosphere is, without a doubt, incredibly relaxing.
The color palette of the underground spa is kept exceptionally minimalist, as is the arrangement of the space. Taking into consideration that the design should communicate a "simple, calm, and quiet" vibe to visitors, Richard Bell Architecture gently experiments with the constructs of contemporary design. The entire ambience of the space is ensured through a minimal display of obstructions, such as embellishing elements or complicated material use.
