UMA, a Stockholm-based studio, built a temporary installation hut out of leaves. The leaf hut follows a series of primitive huts made with materials collected from nature, such as mushrooms, spruce cones, and snowballs. To capture the vibrant colors of fall, the architect utilized tens of thousands of leaves to create the newest addition to the series.
UMA architects created the leaf hut with a combination of materials, including a trampoline frame to give it its structural shape. The structure also includes a layer of mesh lining, thereby forming a wall system. UMA's architects then wrapped the structure with leaves to create a unique and colorful hut. The team on the project sought to collect mostly maple leaves, creating a cohesive design.
