Ultra-Cozy House Designs

Proctor & Shaw Update the Herne Hill House to Feature a Comfy Nook

Local architecture firm Proctor & Shaw update the layout and aesthetic of this ultra-cozy house in south London for a retired teacher. The home still answers to the design principles of the contemporary movement, however, the new extension brings the dwelling's value up.

For one, Proctor & Shaw updated the kitchen to be more spacious and open. A new patio was inserted to facilitate a better connection between the residence and the garden, as well. However, a highlight of the renovation of the ultra-cozy house is the addition of a wood-lined nook. With views to the garden, this unique and compact space offers solitude and is ideal for a mindful relaxation session or for reading a book.
