'Turkey on the Table' is name of a new book and activity that was created for families looking to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving holidays.
Made in partnership with Feeding America, the adorable display was co-created by April George and Kerry Maunus, two parents who wanted to instill positive values in their kids by encouraging them to consider everything that they had to be thankful for. The two co-founders wanted to share their daily habit of gratitude with others, spurring the launch of Turkey in the Table. Every day, family members can write what they're grateful for on a feather-shaped card, and attach it to the turkey. As more cards are added, the turkey will develop a voluminous tail. On Thanksgiving day, families are meant to display the turkey on the table as a centerpiece, and read out the cards.
For each Turkey on the Table that's sold, 10 meals will be provided to someone in need. So far, the partnership has led to over one million meal donations.
