Atalanta's cheese producer Snowdonia Cheese Company recently expanded its portfolio of cheeses with the introduction of the new Truffle Trove. The new offering pays homage to the "sun-drenched forests of the Italian countryside and lush greenery of North Wales" and features extra mature cheddar infused with Italian Black Summer truffles. The Black Summer truffles are difficult to find and are located up to 30cm below ground among Italy's Holm oaks and hazelnut woods.
The decadent cheese features a distinctive, earthy aroma alongside a balanced flavor palette. Moreover, with undertones of wild mushroom and hazelnut, the Italian Black Summer truffle is milder than its winter counterpart. "We’re very excited for the U.S. launch of Truffle Trove," says Atalanta Brand Marketing Manager Katie Baldwin, "Snowdonia has so many beloved, award-winning flavored cheeses that can completely transform any occasion. This new truffle has a special umami flavor that can’t be missed."
