TopShelf is an app that makes it easy to have alcohol delivered to your doorstep. The app uses zip codes to locate the nearest liquor store and scan its inventory, so that a consumer can pick out and pay for a selection of items.
The app requires a minimum purchase of $20, and for $5 a store employee will deliver the order within an hour. As TopShelf's creator Ryan Browne says,
"Let’s say you have some friends over, you have a bottle of wine, you run out of wine, everyone is still thirsty. You don’t want to risk a potentially US$17,000 DWI or even worse hurt yourself or someone else whenever you can just have it delivered right to your door." The premise of TopShelf is also appealing for weddings, events and parties.
