Times Square is one of those places where you wish you could stop (without people pushing you to move on) and drink it all in: the lights, the culture, the people. Now, you can. The TKTS Booth in New York’s Time Square features rooftop seating so local and tourists can stop, sit, and enjoy the experience.
Designed by architects Choi Ropiha, Perkins Eastman, and PKSB Architects, the TKTS Booth has a sloped roof that forms stepped seating. The steps are lit from within, which draws attention to the Francis Duffy monument at the structure’s base. The architects describe the TKTS Booth as a "ticket booth and an inclined public space where locals and visitors alike could pause, sit and experience the ‘crossroads of the world’."
