ÆTHER/MASS and Alton work in collaboration to create the Aperture table and the Beam lamp -- these will be unveiled at the Collectible Fair in Brussels. The Aperture table is made from solid 30mm thick aluminum and is marked by unique perforations that have been applied using waterjet technology.
There are 32 perforations in total and this means creating a 'transparency' in the solid thick material. The table's surface is finely sanded down and the raw edges remain to showcase the waterjet technique. The Beam lamp is described to be a 'path through the air' with the light beam and illuminates a glow through the base. It has a stainless steel build and unconventional shape for a floor lamp, appearing to be more of a sculpture than a lamp.
