Audio brand Marshall launches its first collaborative portable speaker project with Amsterdam-based streetwear brand Patta -- the two work on the former's Emberton II speaker. The portable structure is compact and developed to evoke 360° sound.
The design language is inspired by Caribbean themes and sound system culture as a means to bring a close sense of community. The speaker also has an OSB wooden print -- this is contrasted by a bright orange making up the outer shell and a colorful grille that is detailed in a gradient form of green, yellow, and red as a nod to Patta's Surinamese heritage. The speaker is set to launch globally on February 23rd on both Patta and Marshall's websites.
Co-founder of Patta, Guillaume Schmidt states, “We’re stoked to be the first brand to collaborate on a portable speaker design with Marshall. Patta has strong ties to sound system culture and music communities at large. Like many of our collaborations, we touch on various aspects beyond just the product, exploring multiple pillars of the project.”
