The Vogue Japan April 2013 The Vanishing Underground editorial places model Liya Kebede within a subway car. The model does so while surrounded by an extensive crew of males, all of whom appear to be engaging upon their daily routine activities.
Stylist George Cortina made this Vogue Japan team appear to be anything but routine however. Kebede was dressed head to toe in couture apparel, evident in her full piece snakeskin suits, maxi black dresses and low rise gowns. Hair expert Anthony Turner infused the production with a memorable do as Kebede rocked an oversize afro. Photographer Mikael Jansson captured the set with a blue tinge, adding to the metropolitan feel of The Vanishing Underground which will be made available come April.
