The Orange of Ris by Maison Edouard François is a project that revamps the facade of a bland structure that is located in the heart of the Parisian suburbs.
"Strong materiality provides an antidote to suburban blandness in the studio's latest design that remixes a linear building concept."
The Orange of Ris is located in a small municipality on the south eastern edge of Paris and is a neighbourhood filled with outdated, 70s era architecture. With his redesign, Maison Edouard François' Edouard François transformed this building tower using an industrial and graphically bold material.
His materials of choice were orange terracotta tiles that give this residential structure an unexpected texture while making a lasting visual impact on the neighbourhood's inhabitants.
