Named after the tasty dessert, these macaron lamps are a direct reflection of the brightly colored treats. The name originates from the base of the lamp which looks exactly like a macaron. The light is then topped with a wild, eye-catching, geometric lampshade stemming off of the Memphis Movement theme.
The Memphis Movement is a design term coined in Milan, Italy and is used to describe post-modern decor pieces. Each piece is brightly colored and visually striking. They often come in the form of textiles, furniture, clocks and in this case -- lights.
Designer Davide G. Aquini worked with Progetti in Luce to create this table lamp collection. Using American tulipwood and a funky patterned lampshade, the collection is limited-edition. The Macarons lamps are on display at the 2015 Ventura Lambrate.
