Monaco can now take the title of having the worlds most expensive residence. Only a month after London's $220 million penthouse was sold, Monaco has proven that it's $308 million penthouse was the leading contender as the most expensive penthouse in the world. La Belle Epoque, as it is called, was the former property of billionaire banker Edmund Safra.
In 1999, Safra died from a tragic fire that took place within La Belle Epoque. British property developers Christian and Nick Candy spent $40 million to renovate the penthouse. This lavish space has three bedrooms, a double-height library, and even a panic room!
