Photographer James Mollison has not failed to impress with his series The Disciples.
The concept behind this series was simple: Mollison would take photographs of the loyal fans who attended their favorite band's concerts. The results were fantastic. Mollison photographed fans of Spice Girls, 50 Cent, Madonna, Rod Stewart, Kiss and Iron Maiden, but my favorite of The Disciples series is the Sex Pistols photo, as the amount of plaid pants present is unbelievable. Even without captions, it's still easy to view The Disciples series and decipher what music the fan was into.
Mollison says of the series, "As I photographed the project I began to see how the concerts became events for people to come together with surrogate 'families', a chance to relive their youth or try and be part of a scene that happened before they were born."
