Forgetful App Campaigns

The Day Shazam Forgot Campaign Sought to Raise Awareness for Alzheimer's

The Day Shazam forgot was a creative campaign offered by the musical app, which sought to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research.

The campaign was certainly a distinct one, and took place in the United Kingdom. In April of this year, users of the Shazam app began to experience what appeared to be a glitch when they tried to use it. As many know, the app can be used to identify the name and artist of whatever music is being played in a room, as long as it is able to pick up the audio. On The Day Shazam Forgot, the app appeared to forget the song it was trying to identify. Once it did identify the song for the user, it would lead them to a link that allowed them to donate to Alzheimer's research, and within a matter of hours Alzheimer's Research UK received over 5,000 visitors to its donation page.

This unusual campaign offered a creative way for people to become educated on an important health issue, and in the process worked towards helping an excellent cause.
