Designed by Paolo Ferrari in collaboration with textile artist Hiroko Takeda, the AME Natural Lounge chair is handwoven. It features a shaggy back made from a mix of natural fibers that gather together to drape down to the floor. Boasting a bohemian style, the design is informed by Japanese garment making, especially that of the Mino traditions.
Mino is a traditional raincoat made from layers of straw. The lounge chair is highly reminiscent of the Japanese garment due to its hanging mixed fibers. Using a combination of cotton tape yarn, linen, hemp, silk, and wool, each piece is unique, as they contain varying ratios of the mixed material. The AME Natural Lounge chair is available via the Twentieth gallery.
