Local Korean architecture and design studio Mass Studies recently designed and constructed the Tea Stone Museum + Cafe. The structure is located on Jeju Island just off the coast of South Korea. The series of interconnected buildings feature the Tea Stone, Innisfree House and the Innisfree Annex. These three complexes are found in between the tea farm and the Gotjawal, literally meaning a forest on rocky ground.
The main building, Tea Stone, is a box like structure that extends towards a slope. It lies directly adjoining the museum, encouraging visitors to the scenic area to have a chance to enjoy the luscious landscape. The Tea Stone building is made of black concrete that is polished to give off a glossy surface, making the structure reflect the overhead sky.
