Second to the wedding dress, the prom dress is probably the most important piece of clothing that a girl will ever own and wear, so it's no wonder Tara Frey wanted to make it extra special and memorable. With the help of her mom, Kerrin Frey, and friend, Paula Korbel, Frey created a Starburst wrapper prom dress.
Utterly unique, the dress definitely made Tara Frey the sweetest girl at her prom. The dress was actually conceived six years ago when Kerrin Frey saw her friend Joan Doyle folding gum wrappers together, she began purchasing Starbursts and collecting the wrappers to create this one-of-a-kind dress.
Basically, Tara Frey's dress was made by folding the wrappers eight times, braiding them together, adding some hot glue and then sewing them onto fabric to make it durable.
Amazingly, the theme of Tara Frey's prom was Candyland.
