Following the release of their stain-resistant underwear for menstruating women, Thinx is releasing a reusable tampon applicator after 2 years of development. Coming in March 2017, the Thinx Reusable Tampon Applicator (RETA) is an environmentally friendly option for women who want other eco conscious options besides a menstrual cup.
Each year 7 billion plastic tampon applicators wind up in landfills. RETA is a waste-free solution made out of medical grade silicone and is supposed to last for about 10 years (unlike currently available disposable ones). The sustainable feminine hygiene product is also easy to conceal in your bag. Beginning in January, 2017, Thinx will also be selling 100% organic cotton tampons to go with their new applicators.
